From Developer to Designer
Here are a few of the sites that I feel have helped the most with getting me to start a career in Web Design.
Wake Up Later - Run by Samuel Ryan, this site most closely resembles what I want to accomplish through my blog. It features informative articles about freelancing, methods for passive income, SEO tips, and interviews with professional designers.
David Airey - David Airey’s site focuses mainly on logo and graphic design, but the site is also full of some great posts for various areas such as blogging, advertising, web development, and typography. Check out his featured articles to get a better idea.
Freelance Switch - A blog all about what it takes to become a better freelancer. Solid articles to help people like me get into the freelance game. They also have a sister site devoted to methods to start earning passive income.
Elliot Jay Stocks - In my opinion, Elliot is quickly becoming one of the most respected web designers. He gained much popularity for his article Destroy the Web 2.0 Look. Although I wish he would do more tutorial-type posts, I can’t wait to see what he will accomplish for the community this year.
Dosh Dosh - Yet another blogging site about blogging, Dosh Dosh’s posts get straight to the point and have helped me learn how best to blog and some SEO tips along the way.
I know there are many other sites that have contributed to my desire to quit thinking about being a designer and doing it, but these are the sites that I just can’t get enough of and always look forward to their next posts.
A young man's strange, not so erotic journey from developer to designer. Jeremy Adam Davis is starting to spread his wings to start becoming a freelance web designer. Look here to find updates as my freelance web design evolves, along with articles about SEO, making passive income, and web design best pracices
